READINGS & MUSIC (Incl OPEN MIC) Last Wednesday of each month 27th Sept, 7.30pm - (sign-up from 7.15pm for open mic) Borders Bookshop N1 Centre, 26 Parkfield St. London N1 (Tube Angel {Islington}) Entry: FREE --- FEATURED PERFORMERS Literature: Nandita Ghose Music: Delia Spears Nandita Ghose She is a poet and playwright, she has written for TV: a short film 'Bhangra Girls' and episodes for BBC drama series 'Doctors', as well as 'Crossroads'. Her original plays have been broadcast on Radio 4, and her most recent series won a Sony in 2005. Her poem "This Nose" won the prize for funniest poem at the Edinburgh Festival 'Fringe Festival' in 2003. Nandita has been published in Magma, X-Press and the Wolf and is working on her first collection "Hanuman's Child". She has performed her poetry widely including for Apples and Snakes, Fourth Friday, the Cellar and the Arcola Theatre. Delia Spears She has been writing songs for about 10 years and is now gigging on the London circuit. Her sound is an acoustic blend of soul and folk. She says 'I write because I feel and I sing because I have to'. What she would love is for someone to hear her song in passing, stop, feel something, either that they'd forgotten, or wanted to, or something they missed. Music is about what's inside, sometimes it speaks when we can't. Delia speaks to us through her songs, live at Different Planet (dp) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For further info on Different Planet see www.diffplanet.net |
